Description:

Medical devices that incorporate machine learning (ML) are becoming more prevalent in the healthcare industry, as they can help to improve diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes. However, developing such devices requires careful consideration of a number of factors, particularly when seeking FDA approval. When developing a medical device with ML, it is critical to clearly define specifications, including the algorithms used for data processing, data sources, and data limitations. This helps to ensure that the device will function correctly and produce accurate results. It is also important to set up and maintain a consistent build environment for embedded firmware, to ensure that the device operates as intended. In this session we will talk about the development of medical devices with ML which requires careful consideration of testing requirements, specifications, build environments, and testing automation. By addressing these factors, developers can increase the likelihood of FDA approval and ensure that their devices operate safely and effectively in the healthcare setting.
